From a small child, Kerri has always been passionate about her horses. Her first horse was ‘Off Track’, which she schooled herself (with the help of her instructor). When she finished school, she attended the equestrian academy completing Equine studies, stable and stud management. Following that she completed her ‘work rider’ courses and raced as a work rider with James Maree. She then went to the Jockey Academy and became an apprentice Jockey. After leaving the academy she spent 5 years as an assistant trainer, obtained her assistant trainer license and ran a large yard. Kerri worked closely with Vets and thus gained a good medical background and learned a lot about equine feeding.
Kerri has taken in Race Horses from sales, broken them in and schooled them for a racing career. She has also helped with the rehabilitation of injured race horses and got them back into work. Kerri had to choose between racing and her yard, as there was not time for both. She has been teaching and schooling problem horses for over 20 years and is fully dedicated to her students, giving them all individual attention. This is what gave her students such excellent results in Inter-schools and nationals. Kerri has imported semen from Germany and is breeding some top show jumpers which she has the intention of schooling and competing with or selling.
